L'Eclozr

Welcome to l’Eclozr, The first Design Lab in Brittany

The launch of this brand new and inspiring third place took place on the 19th of September. And we were PROUD to be there.

L’ÉCLOZR, WHAT’S THAT?

Founded by three brilliant entrepreneurs (Maël Jaffrelot, Loïc Deffains and Nicolas Letullier), l’Eclozr is a place where start-ups and large corporations come together to create new business models through design and innovation. Magnificently set in a refurbished hotel particulier – in the heart of Rennes – this collaborative hub is a game-changer.

And that is how the first Design Lab in the Breton capital emerges, supported by the APCI organisation (French association for the promotion of design).

AN AWESOME LAUNCH HIGHLIGHTING HIGH AMBITIONS

During the whole afternoon, dynamic conferences (30 minutes maximum) were presented by recognised experts and influencers; on many different topics.

Two talks particularly caught our interest!

DESIGN AND VALUE CREATION

A conference presented by Isabelle de Ponfilly, CEO @ Vitra

Vitra – office and home furniture design – creates items that transform working habits.

  • Softwork (Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby): lounge sofas with positively impact behaviours at work.
  • Resting Animals: animal-form items that bring peace to people with a positive influence on the working environment.
  • Modularity: with time, teams can transform their working spaces thanks to convertible furniture. Each element can evolve: dashboard, vegetal walls, storage spaces, etc.

THE VALUE OF DESIGN SPRINT AND POC

A conference presented by Chantal Maugin, Lab Experience Design Executive @ Technocentre Orange

Design Thinking is dead, long live Sprint Design! Its promise? To generate disruptive innovation in one week. In a nutshell: 1 week, 5 to 7 experts, 1 animator, 1 problem to solve, 1 total immersion.

DESIGN SPRINT – A WINNING SCHEDULE

D1 Understanding / It’s about finding the right perspective regarding the problem, generate insight from intervening experts to address the complexity of the issue adequately.

D2 Imagining / Producing maximum ideas and solutions before sharing them with users to implement their vision.

D3 Deciding / Tough but vital. It’s about choosing the best idea among all those shared by the group.

D4 Prototyping / Illustrating the concept by creating a comprehensive prototype.

D5 Testing / Submitting the prototype to users to extract their experience and feedback.

Simple but intense!

The game-changing idea behind Design Sprint lies in time constraints. In one week, there’s fewer risks and no time for doubts. During those few days, the group will have covered the issue to create a new product user-tested! Welcome to the future.

A GRAND FINAL

The day ended in style with inspiring speeches from key stakeholders, a locally curated buffet, …and an equestrian show. Yes, you read that right!

Eclorz, we wish you all the best!.Discours-Inauguration
